Venue Love 💛

Living in Dunbar, I’m incredibly lucky to live close by to some of the most amazing wedding venues in Scotland (trying not to be too smug about it but, well. . .)

I thought I’d share some of them here. . .

Dunglass Estate

A gem up in the hills, tucked away, Dunglass Estate is a venue like no other. Where else can you find a part-ruined church you can have a ceremony of any denomination in, surrounded by age old trees and forests?

The new Pavilion at Dunglass is incredible (I’ve been lucky enough to see inside) and with it they have upped their game as one of the most elegant and stunning venues in Scotland.

Broxmouth Courtyard

I’ve shot at Broxmouth for years but the last year has seen the team there create the most incredible new venue in their Courtyard. The warmth of the stone buildings, the amazing amount of space inside not one but two beautiful rooms has meant this venue is just the most special spot for a wedding.

Add to that the on-site accommodation, the wee pier and loch right there for photos and it’s just a 2 minute drive to the beach - winner! I love this venue and it’s amazing it’s also in Dunbar.

Netherbyres

Netherbyres House is like no other. Imagine the most vibrant, cool, fun, different venue - everyone who visits falls in love with the place. Run with style and wonder by Sarah and Mike, it’s such a special location for a wedding and packed full of beautiful photo spots!

Just down the road in Eyemouth, it’s the only venue of its kind in the area (quite possibly the whole of Scotland!).

Wedderburn wedding

Wedderburn Castle & Barns

I’m a proud regular at Wedderburn Castle & Barns. I first shot a wedding there back in 2011 and have loved going back year after year to see the creative changes that just keep on coming - the Barns especially is the most fantastic space for a ceremony or reception, or both!

It may officially be in the Scottish Borders, but at just 30 minutes from Dunbar and being so wonderful I just had to include it here. Cracking venue!

Colstoun House

Colstoun House is one of those venues that has everything and is completely packed full of unique elements. The House is the most characterful I’ve ever seen! Add that to the stunning grounds, walled garden, coach house… It’s just an amazing place to be.

Newhall Estate

I can’t not have Newhall Estate in here. While it’s the furthest of this selection, it’s somewhere I love shooting - it has everything! A grand house full of trinkets, stunning grounds, forest walks, an epic walled garden with the most incredible trees and the lovely renovated coach house.

Many a happy day spent snapping weddings here, a really wonderful place to be.
